Ishmael Johnson has been coaching basketball since 2009 and brings extensive experience developing athletes at the AAU, elementary, and middle school levels. He has served as both a Head Coach and Program Director in boys and girls AAU programs, helping guide young players through key stages of their basketball development.

Ishmael has spent six seasons coaching at Southern Middle School, working with both the boys and girls programs. His teams have consistently reached the playoffs, earning multiple Final Four appearances and capturing a City Championship in 2021. Throughout his coaching career, he has helped develop numerous All-City players and has seen the majority of his athletes continue on to compete at the high school level, with several going on to play collegiate basketball.

Known for his commitment to player development and competitive team culture, Ishmael focuses on building strong fundamentals, confidence, and a passion for the game in every athlete he works with.
